Rakesh Sharma's Final Solution - apparently wrong
Rakesh Sharma's 3 hour documentary "The Final Solution" (named after Nazi plans to exterminate Jews) is a study of politics of hate.
After watching the documentary, one can easily make out that it is a crude attempt to exemplify and exaggerate the reality to gain political mileage. There are a number of instances where the director attempts (but fails) to intentionally misinterpret Hindi/Gujarati speaking subjects. Out of context statements make up his case in a notorious manner.
Then there are completely unverified, false and politically charged statements used by communists against the BJP that make up large part of the documentary. For instance, the documentary claims that:

There are a number of instances where the director attempts (but fails) to intentionally misinterpret Hindi/Gujarati speaking subjects. Out of context statements make up his case in a notorious manner.
Then there are completely unverified, false and politically charged statements used by communists against the BJP that make up large part of the documentary. For instance, the documentary claims that:
Narendra Modi introduced 7/8th grade history textbook that glorifies Hitler.
It, however, turns out that the books was actually prescribed under a Congress government in 1993 and can hardly, in any case, be pinned upon the incumbent chief minister [Source: Indian Express].
Fake human rights reports have been produced to pump up the number of dead, homeless, raped during gujarat riot in an attempt to liken it to genocide. Unlike the documentary, official figures of the number of dead is strikingly different: 254 Hindus, 790 Muslims where most of the 254 Hindus were killed in police firing. The documentary, with devious intentions, claims 2000 Muslims were slaughtered by Hindus. The BJP deputy leader in Lok Sabha, defending the Gujarat governments role, claimed that not a single person was killed in police firings in riots which occurred during earlier Congress regimes including the Bhagalpur violence and the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Moreover, the documentary does not analyze social issues such as unemployment and crime gangs that openly take sides in communal riots, making the violence that much more bloody and vicious. [BBC].
Only a section of people are interviewed, restricting a broad view of the happening. It fails to address why exactly the Modi government was put back into power with 2/3 majority. Conversely, it claims that it was because the whole Gujarati Hindu community is fascist and communal!
At times it resorts to Indian judical hearings made against Modi to justify and give credibility to the documentary. At other times, however, Indian judicial system is vilified, demonized and its authority is questioned.
While this is all true, it is not suprising if one checks the director's background. Rakesh Sharma has close ties with communism inspired/soft cornered activists like Anand Patwardhan, Sandeep Panday, Medha Patkar, Teeta Setalvad and others. All these people are funded by AID and Singh Foundation (see guidestar.org) for these and other notorious projects.
What is true but not made obvious is their association with Communists party of India. The Marxist ideology is warm and hearty to all of them but ironically they are ashmed to admit it in public.

Guys, that 2000 dead Muslims was picked up by some foreign journalist (British?) quoting Father Cedric Prakash. From there, that number just stuck.
Good review!

If anything the final solution should be planned against all the commie traitors who are the real enemies of Hindus and India.

Surat to pip Mumbai as new terror hotspot
Move over Mumbai, Surat could soon become the country's new terror capital.
A recent intelligence alert to the Mumbai Police says Dawood Ibrahim's men are on a property-buying spree in the city — to set up a base there.
On the run since 2000, when the Mumbai police cracked down on them by gunning down 400 gangsters, D-Company is now reclaiming lost ground. And since Mumbai is within striking distance of Surat, the police are a worried lot. They say the gangsters could mount hit-and-run strikes on Mumbai from Surat.
According to sources, Pakistan's ISI may be looking at Dawood to have access to the atomic plant at Tarapore as it is close to Surat.
Dawood also wants to control the corridor connecting Surat to important ports like Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust and the docks in Mumbai to boost activities.
Officials say travel, transport and recruiting agencies are priority areas for Dawood. The newly-acquired business houses in Surat may be used to bolster D-Company's hawala trade. Gangsters are already minting money by controlling the stolen car business and diamond trade here.
Gujarat has been a major headache for the Mumbai police. Most of the splinter groups behind the Mumbai blasts claimed they were avenging the post-Godhra carnage.
Mumbai Police sources said despite alerts and dossiers on D-Company's activities, little effort was being made to smash their base. The gangsters have apparently been using this lack of coordination to their advantage.
Gujarat is not unfamiliar terrain for Dawood's men. Most of the arms meant for D-Company are shipped in through Gujarat's porous borders. The consignment mostly Pakistani and Chinese manufactured firearms is smuggled across the state by stashing it in specially-created cavities in cars.
In most cases, gun-runners travel with their families to slip past border outposts and into Mumbai, crime branch sources say. A large quantity of RDX was allegedly smuggled into Mumbai for the 1993 blasts from Porbunder by Dawood's key associate Umarmiya Panjumiya Bhukari, alias Mamumiyan.

Dear Hammer
I read your review of the film with interest. Some of your comments seem incorrect.
1. Hitler in textbooks : The documentary does not claim that Narendra Modi introduced the text. It has two slides in the film, both quotes - one from The Hindu, a reputed Indian newspaper and another from businessworld, a well-known magazine. If anything, the director has taken care to attribute most of the slides and has specified sources. Perhaps you missed it altogether. Further, the point really is : BJP came into power in Gujarat in the early 90s and started changing textbooks, introduced Hitler in them. Whether it was done on instructions by Advani, Modi, Patel, Vaghela or the RSS is immaterial.
2. The figure of 790 + 254 casualties was provided by the Gujarat government to the Central govt which tabled it in Parliament. A look at over 70 fact finding reports would tell you that there has been huge under-reporting by the government of Gujarat. Final Solution itself has several sequences where people keep talking of how the government figures are wrong. If you just add up those numbers in the 3 or 4 sequences where it comes up, you will get a perspective! Quite obviously, if "missing" people are now turning up as bones being exhumed by the CBI, the Gujarat govt has been lying to the people.
3. RB Sreekumar, senior IPS officer, has affidavits that establish a clear nexus between the miodi government and the carnage. These are with the Nanavati Commission appointed by Mr Modi! Please read the affidavits.
4. The film does not claim that Gujarati community as a whole is fascist. It is surprising that you fail to mention that Final Solution is the only film that actually traces families of karsevaks who died inside S-6 as well as victims of the Akshardham terroris attack! Is it because you don't like the fact that these karsevak families not only do not want any revenge or bloodbath in their name but openly criticise the BJP/VHP combine? Are they not Gujaratis and Hindus? And don't they have a greater right than you to comment on this, especially since they actually lost their wives and other relatives in the fire?
I am curious - what is your stand on the events in Gujarat? Do you think the killings, rapes and violence was justified? Is Modi your hero? Or do you think he should be behind bars, serving a life term?

My post does NOT defend Narendra Modi or any of the crimes (Godhra and post-Godhra) that happened in Gujarat riots. It only debunks the sweeping allegations made in the movie and in Q&A sessions. It also reveals the communist nexus for motivating and propogating these types of activities in mainstream media.
Genocide, Nazism, communal Gujaratis, ignorance of social issues, selective interviews, lack of past events and history and a predetermined mindset are some of the issues I have trouble with.
My other concers were posted on another blog:
-------------
RS and others, my comments further are not meant to slander (even if they might sound that way). I mean to take out the truth from our conversation.
After the movie screeings, the collected funds go to SINGH foundation - a close affiliate of Proxa, Ghadar, Ekta and other 'inquillabi', leftists Indian organizations. Leftist in Indian context is beyond doubt a communist (Congress is considered centerist, fyi). These organizations are hell bent on to protest against US imperialism in Afghanistan!, Cuba etc. More recently, they have found good fodder from American ulta-leftists. SINGH foundation funds Anand Patwardhan (movie-maker), Teeta Setalvad, Angana Chatterji and other other activists with political leanings.
Putting Gujarat and Gujaratis in bad light has many advantages for various reasons while ignoring some of the 1000x worse places in India - west bengal, bihar. (e.g 70% of muslims in WB live in abject poverty and rest of them barely make it above the poverty line - a communist dictated state for 30 years)
I have to, however, give sincere credit to RS for his movie. It did show some of the nasty things that go on freely in Indian politics (communal speeces etc.). But there are concerns that should have been addressed for a more balanced perspective. Some of the comments I've read on other blogs were "The movie shows mere 1 or 2 minutes (out of 180) of Godhra train carnage and in defence of those victims"; "since these types of riots go back in time, why not assess last 50 years"; "rabid Islamic fundamentalism is present throughout India, while in past 15 yrs none of the SINGH foundation/otherwise funded movies address that";
Other general comments I gathered from other blogs (I think ToI): "why dont you consider Naxalites as terrorits/militants (one reason I have been calling you a communist)"; "why dont you make a movie putting India in good light? You dont go screaming out in the world if you have problems in your personal life, do you?";
I know these are rhetorics but they do seem to carry some weight in broader context.

Andhra Pradesh is fast becoming jihad's production factory.
He says young men from towns like Nalgonda have been trained at various Lashkar camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. They then formed different terror groups and conducted some 60 attacks in Hyderabad and across Andhra Pradesh in recent years like:
The first ISI killing masterminded by Ghauri was in 1992, when G Krishna Prasad, an additional superintendent of police, was killed in Hyderabad.
In 1993, four ISI agents killed two Vishwa Hindu Parishad activists, Nandaraj Gaud and Pappaya Gaud, who had participated in the kar seva in Ayodhya that led to the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, in December 1992.
In 1994, terror operatives led by Dr Jalees Ansari, a native of Mumbai, planted bombs inside the Madina Education Centre, on the Andhra Pradesh Express and the Secunderabad railway reservation complex.
In November 1999, terrorists killed Devender Sharma, a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh worker.
In 2000, the terror outfits executed Mahavir Prasad, a Hyderabadi jeweller, who had sparked off a furore in 1997 when he ordered his staff to search a burkha-clad Muslim woman who he wrongly accused of shoplifting.
Three Nalgonda youth were allegedly involved in the sensational killing of former Gujarat home minister Haren Pandya in an Ahmedabad park in March 2003, in retaliation for the 2002 Gujarat riots.
The Deendar Anjuman module, which blew up places of worship in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, too had a Nalgonda link. Of the 40-odd accused, seven hailed from Nalgonda.

at this point, all that I can say is that we Hindus have stopped listening to the ridiculous and quite unnecessary preachings of Gandhi and have finally started to defend our faith. About time too...

i used to appreciate the honesty, and charming nature of Guju's but not anymore, the typical indian mob mentality had struck there too, India is becoming quite fond of mob culture i.e. 1984, Mumbai and Gujrat, politicians have found a way to express themselves. Perhaps a different type of Terrorism.. These things are not going to give any honour to either the country or roiters. Killing of common unarmed people, is cowardice.

Yeah, 1947 repeating itself again and again, this country will burn always in hate.no hope....
By Anonymous, at January 25, 2008 11:13 PM
Gujratis living in foreign lands should have some fear, this is what happens when they are in other people lands.. they are the ones who enjoyed killing the most....

The final solution brings to light the harshest realities of the post godhra riots in gujarat. It would be very unfair to say that the film-maker has shown a fabricated or biased version of the ground reality. Its a brilliant exponent of what hate politics can achieve when illiterate fanatics are driven to madness by the fiery speeches of their psychotic leaders. The ghastly incidents brought to light in the documentary clearly shows how the unsophisticated communities living their lives guided by age old prejudices and orthodoxies can be fertile spawning grounds for hate politics.. i would request the author to please watch the documentary once again with an open mind and reconsider your statements so unworthy and irresponsible. If criticising for the sake of it was your objsective it was sad that you had to touch a topic so sensitive.

anonymous says how "unsophisticated communities living their lives guided by age old prejudices and orthodoxies can be fertile spawning grounds for hate politics". Apparently, you have also made up your mind when you apply the aforementioned only to 'post-Godhra' events, dont you think? What about looking back in history and doing some quantitative analysis?
By hammer_sickle, at March 21, 2008 1:34 PM
This article is a good assesment of Mr. Sharma's biased showcase through a one-sided movie which only serves the purpose of spreading hate between the Hindu and Muslims communities....
I hope that one of the relatives(most probably his father/mother) of Mr. Sharma should had been in the two coaches in which the Kar sevaks were roasted/burnt alive......and then we would have seen a different movie altogether.....

You guys might have seen the television and saw the TV news at the time of riot. More than 200,000 people were home less and more than 100,000 people killed. 2000 people Killed were a small figure. All the Gujarati majority is heartless and they wanted to kickout the minority muslim. Gujarati majority elected Hitlor modi because of their same attitude
By Anonymous, at April 22, 2009 6:10 AM
I would prefer to kill Gujaratis on site( to give them the feeling of minority during the riot) wherever they are minority. So that they will know what is life and they are not majority everwhere.

The film doesnot indicate the Truth that 58 hindus were burnt live by muslims.
The typed sentrences on the screen makes one feel that Gujarat Government had set the Train on fire.
Is Rakesh doing this baising purposefully or out of ignorence. Film is one sided, maybe made for fame and money.
