Maoists justified in taking up arms: Arundhati Roy - Asha & AID activist
"My fear is that because of this economic interest the government and establishment actually needs a war. It needs to militarise. For that it needs an enemy. And so in a way what the Muslims were to BJP, the Maoists are to Congress," Roy said in an interview with Karan Thapar on CNN-IBN’s show Devil's Advocate.[link]
It is perfectly fine to pitch a political voice for justifying a violent, communist agenda but what is surprising is that people like Ms Roy, Medha Patkar and Teesta Setalvad are supported and funded by foreign donations made by Asha for Education and Association for India's Development. These orgaanizations disguise under non-profit status in US but are funding virulent communist activities.
The average unsuspecting donor takes these projects as a service to impoverished and needy. For instance, the Bhopal tragedy and Singur violence are really a political agenda against "imperialism", "capitalism". Similar is their agenda in supporting Medha Patkar. Their education services are tainted with non-belief teachings -- which is quite contrary to other education services which promote "equality" in all religions.
But if you support communism -- you are right in supporting these activist and their activities.
