A Breed Of Their Own - Indian Communists!

Indian communists are truely a unique breed of humans, disjoint to all things logical. The communist ideology can actually be compared with fundamentalism. Rightly so, the BBC notes:

The more things change, the more India's Communists remain the same.

They seek to "independently apply Marxism-Leninism to Indian conditions," and insist "world capitalism is incapable of solving the basic problems affecting humanity". That is not all.

The 40-year-old programme of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) - or CPM - updated just once four years ago, tellingly, says: "Global mobile finance capital is assaulting the sovereignty of nations, seeking unimpeded access to their economies in pursuit of super profits."

Opposing everything "traditionally Indian" is a stone carved dictum in communist literature. Capitalism (hence US/UK) is another enemy the ideology lives for! But ironically or hypocratically(?), all the support to oppose these have been garnered from Indians in US by raising funds.

One such communist is Sandeep Pandey - will be lecturing in Santa Clara, Calif.

Sandeep Pandey, who is scheduled to be felicitated at the event, has repeatedly called America "the biggest evil power on earth"[1] and "the biggest terrorist state."[2] Sandeep Pandey is a sympathizer of the violent Naxalite group, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation (CPI-ML), which calls for an armed revolution and for raising an army.[3] He has been a delegate at the convention of this group honoring the "comrade martyrs", a euphemism for terrorists killed by police when they attempted violent actions on civilians.[4]

Wait a minute, if this Naxalite proponent feels so heartedly against the US why is he even visiting US? We do, however, know that Mr. Pandey is a mastermind in raising funds and diverting parts of it unknown (and mostly anti-India) projects.

Sign the petition against Pandey's visit and show your support!

Note: Sandeep Pandey is ASHA (Asha for Education) co-founder.

  • Hmmm i am disappointed though the guy is not totaly on my evil list yet.
I have seen MNCs exploit india (just like many indian companies have done)
so the coke and pepsi agitation i can understand.
I have seen a school in bangalore run by aasha it was pretty good so i have no issue there.
I am pro indian defense build up so i'd hold that against him.
I will contact others in aasha and learn more.

  • GCK,

You raise good concerns that should be considered before lamenting anyone with charges...

The pepsi and coke agitation are for right reasons but the intentions are different and part of a covert movement to resurrect communism in India.

If you look through www.indiaresource.org you can see that the coke/pepsi agitation is listed under Anti-Globalization movement. You can also check out the CPM (Communist party of India - Marxists) website to see links between Sandeep pandey's movement and communist dictums.

  • The way I see the only communist party in India would be the CPI(Maoist)
    The rest are fakes

I agree the Maoists are violent

But under the present circumstances what can they do other than take up the gun ?

The choice comes down to death by hunger/or at the hands of an upper cast or death by the gun ?
    What would you choose

  • this is for IndiaCorpWatch, you seem to be under the impression that the maoist have great support from harijans and tribals. Maoist have their own parallel govt and are adept at exploiting the resources of tribals and their meagre earnings of the villagers. To keep an armed force like the maoist that streach large portions of india needs large capital, either you except that they accept forgein funds and therefore even ideology and do not work for the poor people but for other interests or they gather funds through gunpoint from the unfortunate indians who have to share their land with these extremists. By the way orrisa is one of the poorest states in india and is smack in the middle of naxal land but still has very little naxal activity. I believe "social justice" has yet to be patented by commies.

  • IndiaCorpWatch, I enjoyed some of your postings - especially the ones on McDonald.

You have to understand that McDonald is not our enemy - we ourselves are. Globlization in itself is not bad if it is made fair for "most" people. Of course, some people will suffer. Moreover, it should never be opposed because it is from "USA" - like the communists are doing.

Regarding Maosists, if they feel they represent "many" people then a democratic solution works best for them - majority wins. But since they lack a broad based support, Maoists and Marxists are resorting to violence and/or "silent violence (Sandeep Pandey)".
