It's now a Maoist jihad that makes India stunned

The news title itself will tell you how serious Times of India is about reporting. It plays with serious stuff like a flubber. In any case, the havoc in north-eastern India is worth noticing:

Over 300 Maoist guerrillas, including dozens of women in olive green military uniform, Thursday afternoon attacked the Madhuban bazaar, opened fire to create panic and set fire to the police station and block office, killing two policemen and a bank guard.

They also looted cash from a bank and attacked a petrol pump owned by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP from Sheohar, Sitaram Singh.

The rebels exploded bombs, looted four rifles and ransacked the local branch of State Bank of India, Central Bank and local treasury as a part of their daredevil operation.

The guerrillas also bombed the house of Sitaram Singh and his neighbour and looted cash and jewellery.

"The Maoists did the looting for over 90 minutes without any police action," a district official said.

One source close to the RJD leader said Nepalese Maoists were also involved in the attack.

Derivation of secular Bihar

Bihar salient features:

- 40,000 madrassas
- 1,119 are state run
- 2,469 are state affiliated
- Others manage to fourish by charity (from Saudi Arabia?)
- 100 Hindu children (or who are still Hindu and on verge of conversion)
- Hence madrassas dont preach fundamentalism

Communal truth, Secular lies

An interesting article which lays out why the media ignored a report circulated by PTI. It goes on to say how the UPA, especially the Indian communists who subscribe to the Goebbelsian tactic of repeating a lie till in the popular perception it comes to be identified as the truth.

One of the best lightning bolt crack on communist lies is done in the following article from sulekha - "Lies Lies and more Lies". Much of the Hindu fanatic attrocities turn out to be "lies" and "tactics".

Save Masjid's ONLY

Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar backs reservation for Muslims - The Hindu

New Delhi, June. 1 (PTI): Actress-turned-activist Shabana Azmi, today termed as "unfortunate" the opposition from certain sections, including political parties like the BJP, to the reservation for Muslim students in the Aligarh Muslim University, saying the move was aimed at benefiting deserving students.

"This step will ultimately benefit 2000 deserving students," Azmi said.
"It is unfortunate that it has been given a communal colour. It should not have had any political ramification," she told reporters here on the sidelines of the launch of a book `Jama Masjid, Call of the Soul'.

Speaking on the occasion, noted scriptwriter, lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar, sought adequate measures to preserve ancient monuments of the country.

"Jama Masjid has been witness to several important happenings of India's history. It was very much a part of the mutiny of 1857. It is our duty to preserve all monuments like Jama Masjid," he said.

Authored by N L Batra, an engineer by profession, the book brings into light some unknown facts about the 17th century monument.

"I have tried my best to document the Jama Masjid in my book. A long association with this great monument has given me a chance to know it well," he said.
